DJI Mavic Pro Accessories – Everything you need to know

The Mavic Pro from DJI has been out for a few months now. DJI frequently releases new accessories for the Mavic Pro. This page is updated when new accessories are available, so be sure to check back often. Now check out the newest accessories for the DJI Mavic Pro!   DJI Mavic Accessories The newest items are at the top of the page. We’ve also included replacement items, so you can easily find items such as the Gimbal Cover. Just in case you lose or scratch yours, or you want to modify one. Mavic ND Filters (Mavic Pro ND Filter Set) ND or Neutral Density filters reduce the amount of light that enters the lens of the Mavic’s camera. Why would you want this? In bright conditions, the Mavic will be forced to use super quick shutter speeds, which is the opposite of what you want. For smooth cinematic footage, you should normally double your framerate (fps) as your shutter speed. When the sun is out during the day this is impossible, therefore Video-, Foto- and Cinematographers rely on ND filters. They reduce each color the same amount so there aren’t any adverse color shifts when filming with them. The filters snap onto the provided grooves on your Mavic’s camera lens. Normally you have to purchase each filter separately, but DJI offers this affordable Mavic ND Filter Combo Set. Mavic Remote Control Sunshade (Mavic Sunshade) Ever fly your Mavic and wish you could actually see what was displayed on your smartphone? This Mavic Sunshade for your Remote Control is for you. It features a magnetic flap which allows you to either fold the flap up to allow greater visibility of the built-in LCD screen; or fold it down for even more glare reducing goodness. You slip the antennas of your Mavic remote control into the provided antenna tubes. Finally, an accessory which also sets up the antennas perfectly for you! More details on the Sunshade here. Mavic Battery (Mavic Battery) Additional batteries allow you to stay in the air longer. Don’t let that perfect shot or sequence get ruined by running out of juice. Having at least 3-4 batteries allows for flexibility between filming and having to find place & time to charge. The official Mavic batteries can be found here. Mavic Car Charger (Mavic Car Charger) Speaking of charging your Mavic’s batteries while being on-the-go. The Mavic Car Charger allows you to charge the batteries and the remote control when you have a 12V socket available to you. Charging a battery takes around 55min for a full charge. Low-voltage protection ensures that your vehicle will be able to start if you charge many batteries while leaving the vehicle off. The charger also turns off if the temperature of your 12V port were to get too hot. It is compatible with normal 12V (12.3-16V) automobile style cigarette adapter ports, as well as 25V (25-30V) ports as found on Coaches and some RV’s. Mavic Charging Hub (Mavic Charging Hub) To make the charging process even more streamlined you can hook up to four Mavic batteries to the Mavic Charging Hub and allow them to be charged one after the other. The Hub attaches to your normal Mavic AC Charger or the Mavic Car Charger. The Hub charges the battery with the most...

The new DJI Mavic Pro has revolutionized the drone industry. Up until now, the Phantom-class drone was as portable as you could get for good 4K Video and 12MP stills. The Mavic Pro changes this. Today we get to Unbox the Mavic Pro. DJI Osmo Mobile leaked – Zenmuse M1 Handheld Gimbal for your Smartphone

DJI Osmo Mobile leaked – Zenmuse M1 Handheld Gimbal for your Smartphone

UPDATE 2: The Osmo Mobile is out and available for $299. Check it out here! UPDATE: The release has been confirmed by an anonymous source! The product will most likely be called the DJI Osmo Mobile and will feature the Zenmuse M1 gimbal described below. The DJI Zenmuse M1 was just leaked! It’s a Handheld Gimbal which holds your Smartphone and is based on the Osmo series. DJI is holding an Announcement on Sept. 1st in Berlin at the IFA Show, for which they updated their Homepage with the teaser “Beyond Smart”. We now know it will be the newly leaked DJI Zenmuse M1 Gimbal. The FCC ID location clearly confirms that the Zenmuse M1 Gimbal will be for Smartphones. It will be similar to the known and tried DJI Osmo which just received a spec-bump with the DJI Osmo+ giving it a Zoom camera lens and extended battery life. The Zenmuse M1 Handheld Gimbal will be officially announced at the IFA Tradeshow in Berlin on Sept. 1st. The FCC ID clearly shows the DJI Zenmuse M1 with model id ZM01 The Handle The Handle of the Zenmuse M1 Gimbal will be the same as on the normal DJI Osmo and the newly released DJI Osmo+. It will therefore be compatible with the normal DJI Osmo Intelligent Batteries including the 980 mAh standard Osmo battery and the 1225 mAh “High Capacity” battery which comes standard on the DJI Osmo+. It also allows for compatibility with the existing accessories available for the DJI Osmo. The Zenmuse M1 Gimbal on the DJI Osmo Mobile The Gimbal will be compatible with all recent Smartphones, but most likely demo’d and illustrated with the Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Apple new iPhones releasing at the Sept. 7th Media Event will also be compatible. Of course the Android devices of choice will also work. The Smartphones will most likely need to run the DJI Go App to adjust the gimbal motors based on which phone you have attached. Additionally, you will be able to use the App to control manual controls that you have become used to on the Osmo series of cameras. Availability & Price We expect to be able to place orders the same day with shipping in 15-20 days. This makes the expected Shipment Date for the DJI Zenmuse M1 the 10th – 12th of September. As with most DJI releases the combo of the Osmo Handle with the Zenmuse M1 Gimbal will be available right away with the Gimbal separately perhaps lagging a few days behind. The rumored price for the Gimbal itself is around $199. We hope to see the combo of the Osmo handle with the Zenmuse M1 gimbal to be around $399. Preorder Your DJI Zenmuse M1 Handle & Gimbal here The audio for the videos being recorded will most likely be sourced from the microphone on the mobile device. It would be really sweet to have the audio port on the front of the normal Osmo Handle capable with the Zenmuse M1 to record audio from the microphone port. This would allow external microphones such as the popular Rode Video Micro to be used to capture even better audio than your smartphone is capable of. Source: FCC ID &...

DJI launches the Osmo+ (Plus) with optical zoom

Posted by on 11:36 pm in DJI Osmo, Entry Level | 0 comments

DJI launched the latest version of the popular stabilized handheld camera also known as the Osmo. The latest release called the DJI Osmo+ (Plus) features a modified version of the Z3 gimbal and camera just recently launched for the Inspire 1. How is this Osmo+ different from the original Osmo? For one the new Osmo+ features a new 22-77mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens allowing a total of 7x zoom consisting of 3.5x optical zoom and 2x digital lossless zoom (the fine print for the lossless digital zoom; is when filming in 1080p). This means if you’re shooting in 4K you will be able to take advantage of the 3.5x optical zoom, just not the digital 2x zoom. The Osmo in comparison has a prime 20mm (35mm equivalent) lens with no optical zoom. As with most zoom lenses at the telephoto end, meaning the lens is zoomed in, there is less light able to enter the lens as when it’s wide open. On the Osmo+ this means F2.8 on the wide end and F5.2 on the telephoto end. The new X3 Zoom gimbal weighs 47grams (1.65oz) more than the normal non-zoom X3. The minimum focus distance has been moved down to 50cm (1.64ft) allowing for even better selfies and other close-up shots, both for photo and video. The sensor is the same in both Osmo models, the 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor R CMOS featuring 12.40M effective pixels. The Osmo+ has the new Zenmuse X3 Zoom gimbal, similar to the Z3 Zoom gimbal for the Inspire 1 and larger drones it supports the camera on both sides. The good news is it doesn’t affect the controllable range of the Osmo+. You will get the same -35° to +135° of Tilt, ±320° of Pan and ±30° of Roll that you got on the normal Osmo. Update: The new Zenmuse X3 Zoom Gimbal and Camera which ships on the Osmo+ is now available for existing DJI Osmo owners here. Interestingly the video resolutions are slightly different on the Osmo+ than the normal Osmo. 4K, UHD, 2.7K are the same, yet at 1080p the Osmo+ claims to only go up to 100p vs 120p on the Osmo. These faster fps (frames per second) settings are used for the slow motion feature. The Osmo+ also doesn’t list any 720p (1280 x 720) settings. These differences could of course, be brought out via a software update as the internals of the camera could essentially be the same. New OS1C11 Charger for the DJI Osmo+ (Plus) One bigger difference between the two models is the intelligent battery. The new Osmo+ comes with a (HB02-542465) “High Capacity Intelligent Battery”. This newer battery holds 1225mAh vs 980mAh in the normal (HB01-522365) Osmo battery. This translates to 14.1Wh in the new Osmo+ vs 10.8Wh in the Osmo. We reached out to DJI and they confirmed that the new high capacity batteries from the Osmo+ will be compatible in the other Osmos. This means a 20% increase in battery capacity compared to the normal Osmo HB01 battery. The Osmo+ also comes with a more compact battery charger (OS1C11) where the battery stands up instead of laying horizontally as in the (SOY015A-1260120) Osmo charger. The new DJI Osmo+ also features a new motion timelapse mode which allows the camera to capture a timelapse video while the camera pans. You tell the Osmo+ where you want the...
