DJI launches Zenmuse XT Thermal Imaging Camera for Inspire 1 & Matrice 100

DJI just announced the Zenmuse XT Thermal Camera and Gimbal. In a partnership with FLIR DJI was able to match their highly stable aerial platform with FLIRs proven thermal imaging technology. Thermal imaging cameras don’t have the resolution of normal cameras that we have gotten used to in the last few years. There are two models of the Zenmuse XT:

  1. 336 × 256 Resolution
  2. 640 × 512 Resolution
  3. It comes with one of four available lenses, ranging from 6.8mm (FoV 49.1°x37.4°)  to 19mm (FoV 17° x 13°)

It appears that these Sensors are used in FLIRs most compact cameras available as standalone products. The 640 x 512 and 336 x 256 sensors can also be found in the FLIR Vue cameras made for unmanned aerial systems. Details on the FLIR Sensors used in the Zenmuse XT can be found here (FLIR). The FLIR Vue retails for $1,499 and $2,999. No doubt this will not be an inexpensive Add-On for the Inspire 1 or Matrice 100.
