SanDisk announces 1TB microSD card & Sandisk special deals

The race to increase storage capacities onto even the smallest memory cards continues. Western Digital’s SanDisk brand has launched the worlds first 1-terabyte microSD card. Sandisk & WD products are currently on a limited time sale on Amazon. Check out the low prices on memory cards and hard drives here Check out the Deals At the Mobile World Congress, the new 1TB microSD card was launched. The Sandisk UHS-I card is claimed to have read speeds up to 160MB/s and 90MB/s write speed. Of course, the card will be an SDXC card, as the standard was developed for cards between 64GB to 2TB storage capacities. SDXC cards are best formatted with exFAT to allow the larger file sizes common today. The card will be available from April for $449.99 retail. That’s a pretty hefty premium over the $199.99 512GB card.   Large capacity cards for drones The Mavic 2 Pro and Phantom 4 Pro v2 currently accept microSD cards only up to 128GB. The question is, when will drones be able to use cards over 128GB cards. The much-awaited Phantom 5 is expected to be released in the coming months, will it be the first DJI drone to accept microSD cards over 128GB? Perhaps the Phantom 5 will take normal sized SD cards. This could point towards an increased max bitrate, a hope many have, as this would be a welcome feature of the rumored drone. As long as DJI consumer drones have a max bitrate of 100Mbps (12.5MB/s) the question is, do we need cards larger than 128GB? What is your strategy when it comes to memory cards? Would you rather have a few “smaller” cards and avoid the risk of losing too much footage in case something happened, or do you buy the largest card possible to avoid having to mess with changing them? Cheap Ronin-S DJI releases Essential Bundle

Cheap Ronin-S DJI releases Essential Bundle

The Ronin-S has been a serious competitor on the gimbal market. It is aimed more at the pros than just the prosumers. You can tell by its features and the usual $749 price tag. Today DJI, however, released an Essential Bundle Edition of the Ronin-S which makes it the cheapest it’s ever been. And yes this is a few leagues above the newly released Osmo Pocket. Cheap Ronin-S Essential Bundle Cheap Ronin-S! Essential and Standard Kit comparison [4K] Watch this video on YouTube. You still get the Ronin-S Gimbal, the BG37 Battery Grip, Camera Mounting Plate, Camera Riser and other bits and pieces. Mainly the difference between the Essential Bundle and the Normal Bundle now called “Standard Kit” is the lack of Focus Wheel attachment, IR cable, Type C and B control cables ($19), the tripod/extended grip is made out of plastic and not metal, and the 24W USB Power Adapter isn’t included. The zipper accessories box, the allen wrench and a 2nd velcro cable tie is also not in the essential bundle. When you look at everything you really need, you could pick up the essential bundle and the mutli-camera control cable for your camera and still be over $200 cheaper than the Standard Kit. Check out the Essential Bundle aka the cheap Ronin-S here. You can check if your camera is compatible with the built-in Camera functions by checking the Camera Compatibility List.   STAY IN TOUCH! DJI Mavic 2 Zoom assisting in missing Dog search shot down in Long Island,NY

DJI Mavic 2 Zoom assisting in missing Dog search shot down in Long Island,NY

A DJI Mavic 2 Zoom was shot down today in Long Island, NY. The drone was flying for “Missing Angels” an organization which searches for lost pets. The Pilot was properly licensed to operate the Mavic 2 Zoom. What bothers me, is that this wasn’t just a drone flying around taking pictures for a hobbyist, or even for commercial imaging purposes. Don’t get me wrong, shooting any drone out of the air, is a crime and insanely irresponsible. The drone was trying to locate a missing pet. Ironically the family of the person who shot the drone down owns two dogs. The missing dog “Dezi”, an 18-month-old dog, had just entered her new forever home. Dogs get placed in forever homes after foster homes, or directly after someone cannot care for the animal anymore. Dezi had been in her new home for a few hours before she jumped the fence. Dezi escaped on Thursday, by Friday morning Missing Angels dog rescue posted a call on social media asking for help. Saturday several sightings were reported. After one of those sightings was reported in a neighborhood that is heavily wooded, Missing Angels launched the Mavic 2 Zoom. Soon after take-off the operator of the Mavic 2 Zoom thought he had collided with a bird. The screen went black and he couldn’t see the Ocusync 2.0 live-feed anymore. Gerard Chasteen fired three shotgun shots from the backyard of his home. One shot hit the Mavic 2 Zoom and caused it to crash. U.S. federal law makes shooting down even a drone illegal. See 18 U.S. Code § 32 – Destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities. The good news is that Dezi was found and is back home with her owner. We’re glad this story turned out to have a happy ending, for the dog and owner at least.   STAY IN TOUCH! DJI Osmo Pocket Pro Mode leaked in Beta Firmware

Great news for current and future DJI Osmo Pocket users. We have just gotten word that future updates to the Osmo Pocket will entail many “Pro” features currently only available when using the Osmo Pocket with a smartphone. With this leaked firmware you will have access to these pro features on the standalone Osmo Pocket. Let’s dive in!   Leaked Osmo Pocket Firmware The leak appears to come from a beta-tester or an acquaintance of a beta-tester. We shall call him Mauro. Mauro posted on a private forum that the following features are coming in a future OTA (Over the Air) update to the Osmo Pocket. The features are included in current Beta versions which are sent out to testers before a public release. We aren’t sure where they got their hands on it, but the cat is out of the bag now. Pro features without attaching to Smartphone Along with a few images Mauro mentioned that settings such as D Cinelike, White Balance, Shutter Speed, and Volume Control will be adjustable straight from the Osmo Pocket. (leaked Beta Version of the Osmo Pocket Firmware) Currently to access some of these settings you have to have your Osmo Pocket attached to a smartphone. Settings such as D-Cinelike aren’t available currently even with a Smartphone attached, so great news for those wanting a more flat color profile. Furthermore, you will be able to switch between AFC and AFS focus modes. This will help with the hunting of focus which you can get in certain lighting and contrast scenarios.   Further leaked images In the following image you can see the little PRO icon in the top left corner of the image, noting that the pro mode will be available on the Osmo Pocket alone.   Here above you can also see that the metering mode is in manual-mode set to 0.0 EV. White Balance is set to sunny and over an hour of record time is available at the current 4K24 fps. In the next image you can see the settings to change the Shutter Speed and ISO. At the top you can also see an overlay of an EV indicator. Changing the settings from Auto will cause a notch to display based on if your settings are below or above 0 EV. STAY IN TOUCH! DJI Mavic 2 Rumors & Leaks!

The DJI Mavic 2 or also known as the Mavic Pro 2 has been leaked. Once the rumor mills start, they just don’t seem to stop. The most accurate DJI Mavic 2 Rumors are found below. DJI Mavic 2 Rumors formerly expected to be called DJI Mavic Pro 2. Just as we covered the rumors and leaks of the original Mavic Pro, we cover the Mavic 2! (click the image above!) Mavic 2  – The Compact Phantom we’ve dreamed of? We have been waiting for the ultimate drone. Merge the insane 1″ sensor camera from the Phantom 4 Pro series into the compact body of the Mavic Pro. Is that what the Mavic 2 Pro will be? On August 23rd at 10:30 AM New York time we will find out during the rescheduled “See the bigger picture event”. Tune in Live for the Announcement! Update 6: FCC confirms we are seeing two new DJI Mavic 2 drones today! Check out the FCC update here. Update 5: Further leaked image of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro! The leaks are getting better and better. Here you can see the first real leaked photo of the much awaited and rumored DJI Mavic 2 Pro.   Update 4: Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom are confirmed! Well, i don’t know if it can get much more official than this. Agros in the UK publishes catalogs of their products..still. Of course such catalogs take a bit longer leadtime than an online store. Apparently they weren’t notified or the catalog couldn’t be delayed as the Release Event was delayed. (Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom) There will be two models. One called the Mavic 2 Zoom which looks like it has a camera similar in size to the current Mavic Pro. The Mavic 2 Pro, has a much larger camera and gimbal, and it houses a 1″ sensor! You can see in the top of the advert that the camera is a “Hasselblad camera”. DJI purchased a majority stake of the Swedish camera company in 2017. This might be the first collaboration with Hasselblad on a consumer/prosumer drone. In 2017 they released this 100MP behemoth of a drone, but that was just an M600 with a Hasselblad “aerial” camera.   Update 3: Mavic Enterprise images leaked Further images of the new Mavic from DJI have surfaced. This time it’s not the Mavic 2 however but a Mavic Enterprise Edition.   Update 2: DJI pushes the launch of Mavic 2 We have just received word that DJI has delayed the originally planned July 18th “See the bigger picture” event. No new date has been...
