DJI Osmo Pocket Pro Mode leaked in Beta Firmware

DJI Osmo Pocket Pro Mode leaked in Beta Firmware

Great news for current and future DJI Osmo Pocket users. We have just gotten word that future updates to the Osmo Pocket will entail many “Pro” features currently only available when using the Osmo Pocket with a smartphone. With this leaked firmware you will have access to these pro features on the standalone Osmo Pocket. Let’s dive in!   Leaked Osmo Pocket Firmware The leak appears to come from a beta-tester or an acquaintance of a beta-tester. We shall call him Mauro. Mauro posted on a private forum that the following features are coming in a future OTA (Over the Air) update to the Osmo Pocket. The features are included in current Beta versions which are sent out to testers before a public release. We aren’t sure where they got their hands on it, but the cat is out of the bag now. Pro features without attaching to Smartphone Along with a few images Mauro mentioned that settings such as D Cinelike, White Balance, Shutter Speed, and Volume Control will be adjustable straight from the Osmo Pocket. (leaked Beta Version of the Osmo Pocket Firmware) Currently to access some of these settings you have to have your Osmo Pocket attached to a smartphone. Settings such as D-Cinelike aren’t available currently even with a Smartphone attached, so great news for those wanting a more flat color profile. Furthermore, you will be able to switch between AFC and AFS focus modes. This will help with the hunting of focus which you can get in certain lighting and contrast scenarios.   Further leaked images In the following image you can see the little PRO icon in the top left corner of the image, noting that the pro mode will be available on the Osmo Pocket alone.   Here above you can also see that the metering mode is in manual-mode set to 0.0 EV. White Balance is set to sunny and over an hour of record time is available at the current 4K24 fps. In the next image you can see the settings to change the Shutter Speed and ISO. At the top you can also see an overlay of an EV indicator. Changing the settings from Auto will cause a notch to display based on if your settings are below or above 0 EV. STAY IN TOUCH! 5 things you didn’t know about the DJI Smart Controller for Mavic 2

5 things you didn’t know about the DJI Smart Controller for Mavic 2

DJI released the much awaited Smart Controller for the Mavic 2 at the CES show in Las Vegas. We have seen leaks of this Remote Control with a built-in display for a while, now it’s finally here. Let’s check out the DJI Smart Controller for Mavic 2. Be sure you check out our detailed DJI Smart Controller Review. 5 things you didn’t know about the DJI Smart Controller for Mavic 2 1. It features an ultra-bright display (DJI Smart Controller available now) Of course, the large 5.5″ display is the main feature of the DJI Smart Controller however, its best feature will surely be the 1000 nit (1000 cd/m2 ) display. Interestingly most smartphones only reach up to a maximum brightness of around 500-700 nits. The flagship Apple iPhone XS reaches a max nit value in bright outdoor conditions of 658 nits (according to iMore). So this display is able to get even brighter than that. Sunshades for displays are a thing of the past, finally! The display features a resolution of 1080P. 2. It will support future OcuSync 2.0 Aircraft According to DJI, the Smart Controller will support future Aircraft. We assume this means all future aircraft using DJI’s OcuSync 2.0. Anyone willing to place bets on the DJI Phantom 5 being an OcuSync 2.0 Aircraft? Currently, the Smart Controller is compatible with the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. Update: The Mavic 2 Enterprise is displayed as compatible in the DJI launch video for the device. The Mavic 2 Enterprise is not on the compatibility list, perhaps this is due to the Enterprise version of the Mavic 2 Drone using the DJI Pilot app instead of the usual DJI Go 4 App. 3. It supports 3rd party apps This is a big surprise, as the Built-In Screens on the Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 never officially allowed people to load their own APK application files. Now it is possible out of the box! 4. It features an HDMI port which supports 4K Video Out The Smart Controller features an HDMI-Out port which allows playback up to 4K. OcuSync 2.0 is limited at transmitting a 1080P live signal, so this will have to be recordings you load via the microSD card or downloaded from the built-in browser. 5. It supports QC2.0 quick charging At the bottom of the Smart Controller, you will find a USB-C port and what looks like two 1/4-20 tripod screw mounts. The USB-C port can be used to QC2.0 Quick-Charge the Smart Controller. Charging through the USB port will take 2 hours using a 12V/2amp power supply. The second photo shows multiple Osmo Pockets, most likely from a retail store getting ready to sell the device right after launch. The Osmo Pocket features an 875mAh battery (7.7v) most likely a 2-cell LiPo. There will be a new App to use with the Osmo Pocket, called the DJI MIMO APP. DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review: Hands On The Ultimate Drone

DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review: Hands On The Ultimate Drone

The much-awaited successor to the popular DJI Mavic Pro is here. Today we are excited to present to you our detailed and Hands-On DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review! DJI provided us with a pre-production unit for review. Read on to find out why the Mavic 2 Pro is The Ultimate Drone to own.   Watch this video on YouTube. (Our Own Hands-On In Depth Review of the Mavic 2 Pro)   The Power of the Phantom 4 Pro in a compact package How did the original Mavic Pro change consumer drones? The original Mavic Pro launched almost two years ago in September 2016. DJI took the Phantom 4 and crammed its features into the foldable and therefore compact Mavic Pro. Foldable props were in style. It was the first compact drone on the market with the combination of an excellent camera & 3-axis gimbal, great hard- and software. All was good. Yet, we wanted more. We started thinking up what-ifs, what if we could have a Sony RX100 style sensor on something that is smaller than an Inspire? Bam! DJI released the Phantom 4 Pro (P4P). But that wasn’t enough of course. We got used to only carrying the Mavic Pro with us. One less bulky piece of luggage on road trips? Yes! Now the only option to have that level of quality in your footage and images was to carry around the P4P. The styrofoam cooler was back in the car. Since the release of the P4P, the dream of having that huge 1″ sized sensor in a compact package, close to the size of the original Mavic Pro, was in peoples heads. Well, it’s no longer a dream, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro has arrived. (The DJI Mavic 2 Pro and not Mavic Pro 2 as was initially rumored)   Our DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review While there are several similarities to the original Mavic Pro, a few things immediately stand out when comparing its successor. We will discuss design, size, and features in a bit, but first the camera and what Hasselblad has to do with it. Mavic 2 Pro Camera Disclaimer and Information for photographs: The test flights took place in the Bavarian Alps in Germany! All images are jpg’s out of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro. WB set. Style Standard 0,0,0. Color Normal. Pre-Production Firmware (v1.00.00.00). Images are resized, watermarked and saved as 80% quality jpgs. The saturation is a bit high on the Standard Style setting. Sample images are available for download below. (Morning fog) (Feed Storage) (The details in the full-sized images are incredible) Get unedited Mavic 2 Pro Sample Images! Enter your email to get the Mavic 2 Sample Images, straight as the files came ouf of the drone. You can unsubscribe at any time. Email Yes I Want!  Camera Sensor It wouldn’t be a proper DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review without diving into this primary feature. One of the most important aspects of a consumer/prosumer drone is its camera. The quality of the camera is mostly determined by the sensor size and quality of the lens in front of the sensor. The Mavic 2 Pro features a huge 1″ CMOS sensor housing 20 megapixels. This is the same size sensor featured in the much larger Phantom 4 Pro (& P4P V2.0) drones. The sensor is almost 4...

DJI Mavic 2 Rumors & Leaks!

DJI Mavic 2 Rumors & Leaks!

The DJI Mavic 2 or also known as the Mavic Pro 2 has been leaked. Once the rumor mills start, they just don’t seem to stop. The most accurate DJI Mavic 2 Rumors are found below. DJI Mavic 2 Rumors formerly expected to be called DJI Mavic Pro 2. Just as we covered the rumors and leaks of the original Mavic Pro, we cover the Mavic 2! (click the image above!) Mavic 2  – The Compact Phantom we’ve dreamed of? We have been waiting for the ultimate drone. Merge the insane 1″ sensor camera from the Phantom 4 Pro series into the compact body of the Mavic Pro. Is that what the Mavic 2 Pro will be? On August 23rd at 10:30 AM New York time we will find out during the rescheduled “See the bigger picture event”. Tune in Live for the Announcement! Update 6: FCC confirms we are seeing two new DJI Mavic 2 drones today! Check out the FCC update here. Update 5: Further leaked image of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro! The leaks are getting better and better. Here you can see the first real leaked photo of the much awaited and rumored DJI Mavic 2 Pro.   Update 4: Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom are confirmed! Well, i don’t know if it can get much more official than this. Agros in the UK publishes catalogs of their products..still. Of course such catalogs take a bit longer leadtime than an online store. Apparently they weren’t notified or the catalog couldn’t be delayed as the Release Event was delayed. (Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom) There will be two models. One called the Mavic 2 Zoom which looks like it has a camera similar in size to the current Mavic Pro. The Mavic 2 Pro, has a much larger camera and gimbal, and it houses a 1″ sensor! You can see in the top of the advert that the camera is a “Hasselblad camera”. DJI purchased a majority stake of the Swedish camera company in 2017. This might be the first collaboration with Hasselblad on a consumer/prosumer drone. In 2017 they released this 100MP behemoth of a drone, but that was just an M600 with a Hasselblad “aerial” camera.   Update 3: Mavic Enterprise images leaked Further images of the new Mavic from DJI have surfaced. This time it’s not the Mavic 2 however but a Mavic Enterprise Edition.   Update 2: DJI pushes the launch of Mavic 2 We have just received word that DJI has delayed the originally planned July 18th “See the bigger picture” event. No new date has been set at the time of this writing.   Update: New Drone release confirmed! A new DJI Mavic 2 (Pro 2) is coming! The ultimate of the DJI Mavic 2 Rumors, a confirmation of a new Release Event! DJI sent out invitations to a media event for a July 18th event at 10am New York (EST) time. The original DJI Mavic revolutionized the drone market with its release. Up until that point you had to carry a large phantom sized drone with you if you wanted decent videos and photos from the air. While we got used to constantly having an extra cooler box, errrm the Phantom 4 box as a...

We detail the latest DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 Rumors and Leaks!   DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 Rumors New Release: The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 was officially released by DJI. Click Here to check out the new Phantom 4 Pro V2.0! The Latest Rumors: It appears DJI is planning on releasing an updated Phantom 4. Naming the Device a Phantom 4 Pro V2 and not a Phantom 5 hints at an iterative upgrade and not a “brand new” drone. This is really interesting because we just got the rumored Phantom 5 Rumors & Leaks (<- with Video) a few days ago! What do we know so far about the Phantom 4 Pro V2? All the latest including leaked photographs below: Update 5: Remote Controls hit FCC Update 4: Phantom 4 Pro RTK Confirmed Update 3: Phantom 4 Pro V2 Confirmed! The Registration with the FCC confirms that our DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 Rumors are correct and the drone is officially coming! Taking a peek at the test report shows that the testing took place back on Jan. 13th 2018. (FCC Label for the new DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2) (This is where the FCC label will be located inside the battery compartment of the Phantom 4 V2)   Update 3: Rumored Specs P4P V2 The official name of the drone will be DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 and carries the model number WM331S. The Specs (bold = confirmed): Model WM331S Remote Control Tx on 2.4 & 5GHz Bands US: 2400-2483.5MHz and 5725-5850MHz Disabled in firmware (US): 5150-5350MHz, 5470-5850MHz New SDR in the remote control (SDR = Software-defined radio) Ocusync II – offers low lag, wide bandwidth data link, enhanced SDR, enhanced efficiency radio frequency usage, multiple device connections. Sine Wave ESCs (Electronic Speed Controls) with FOC (Field Oriented Control). The P4P uses square wave ESCs. The exclusion of certain MHz Bands is normal for products being sold in the US. Certain Countries only allow transmission on certain frequency bands. This is normal amongst electronics manufacturers.   Update 2: Phantom 4 Pro V2 leaked images The first credible DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 Rumors in form of leaked images have hit! Check out a top view of the new drone and a glimpse at the new Remote Control. We see what looks like a normal Phantom 4 or Phantom 4 Pro from above the drone looking down. Immediately noticeable however are the newly designed props to the right of the drone. (Top View of the Phantom 4 Pro V2) The leaked P4PV2 Remote Control has a large opening for extra cooling along the rear of the RC. This hints at extra cooling being required. Lightbridge2? Ocusync II? (a First glimpse at Remote Control of the P4PV2) Update 1: Taiwanese Communications Authority receives Phantom 4 Pro V2 for testing A Phantom 4 Pro V2 is spotted receiving Radio & Emissions Testing in Taiwan. We can compare this to the normal FCC Applications we see before a new drone launch from DJI. The next step would be to see this drone sent to the FCC for approval. DJI Spark Charging Station Review – Everything you need to know!

DJI released a new accessory for the DJI Spark drone! Today we will take a look at the DJI Spark Charging Station. This device allows you to charge your Spark drone on the go! DJI Spark Charging Station Review   Official DJI Spark Charging Station Review - Everything you need to know! Watch this video on YouTube. (Our own video review of the charging station)   Features The charging station allows you to charge your DJI Spark, spare batteries and even any accessory which is able to be charged with a USB cable. If you have ever wished to charge batteries while on-the-go, without a power outlet available, then this is for you! Highlights: Charge & Storage location for Spark (with battery), and 2 additional spare Spark batteries 5000mAh built-in LiPo battery enough to charge 3 Spark batteries fully Different available charging modes Smart Charge Order Includes an additional AC Adapter Optional Case is the last Case you will need for your Spark!     Usage To turn on the Spark Charging Station you just tap-release-tap-and-hold the power button. Just like you turn on the DJI Spark or any other DJI drone for that matter. It’s intelligent Smart Charge Order feature ensures that you can get back into the air as quickly as possible. The batteries in the aircraft get charged first and then the spare batteries inside the Spark Charging Station. The spare batteries will be charged in order of highest remaining charge first. So if one spare battery is at 30% remaining charge and the other at 15%, the one with 30% will get charged first. This ensures the shortest charge time for the next battery being charged. Note: When the power level of the charging station gets to 5% it will stop charging and turn itself off automatically. Additionally when charging is complete or the device doesn’t find a battery or device to charge it will turn off automatically.   Different Modes Leaving Charging Station attached to External Power You can use the Spark Charging Station while plugged into an AC Outlet. This allows you to charge your batteries and the charging station at the same time. You can also only charge your smartphone or tablet via the built-in USB port. One less charger you have to carry with you on vacation!     Charging Station out in the field with no External Power Of course, the main purpose of the Spark Charging Station is to charge your Spark and its batteries out on-the-go. Once the charging station is fully charged, it’s capable of charging three DJI Spark batteries from a fully discharged state to fully charged. Of course, we don’t recommend running your batteries all the way to 0% charge as this can damage the battery cells, and have a drastic effect on the longevity of your batteries. *For both modes: If you place a powered on Spark into the charging station, it will automatically turn off.   Specs: Charge Times Charging Time Connected to an external power source: Approx. 1 hr 35 min (station only) Approx. 3 hr (station and three batteries) Disconnected from an external power source: Approx. 2 hr 30 min (three batteries) Technical Details Model: MMPCS01 Compatible Battery Charger: Spark Battery Charger (F1C50 Version 2) Compatible Battery Model: MB1-1480 mAh-11.4 V Output USB...

DJI Mavic Air DJI’s consumer drones haven’t seen a real update to the Mavic segment since the Mavic Pro’s launch in October 2016. The following evolutionary update was the Mavic Platinum which featured an up to 4dB reduction in take-off and landing noise, as well as an improved flight time reaching up to 30min. The Mavic Platinum was released in August 2017. Shortly thereafter the Mavic Pro received a fully white version edition called the Alpine White Edition in November 2017. The Mavic Air will be the first big update to the Mavic line since the Mavic Pro’s debut in 2016. The next version of the Mavic was rumored to be the Mavic 2. This drone would see the inclusion of a camera similar to the 1″ sensor found on the Phantom 4 Pro/Adv. The Adventure Unfolds event could see a launch of two new Mavic drones. One being the Mavic Air with a 1/2.3″ sensor (12 MP) with zoom capabilities and the other being a Pro model with the 1″ sensor (20 MP).
